The coldest day of this Winter did not prevent the over 400 travel professionals from around the country to travel to Zurich-Regensdorf (Switzerland)  to attend the annual Visit USA Seminar.  They were expected by over 60 U.S. and local exhibitors and co-sponsors, the largest number since many years.  U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland, Mr. Donald S. Beyer welcomed the participants with a warm and emotional speech which was very well received.  The year 2011, although the final data are not yet available, will be an all time record in Swiss tourism to the U.S. with an expected 460,000 to 470,000 arrivals. All indications  show that 2012 is also "taking off" very well!   The six workshops which were part of the program were tailored to the latest market trends such as family vacations in the U.S.,  round trips with small planes to "remote" destinations as well as other items somewhat off the beaten tracks.  The New York City delegation presented a true "firework" of insider information and tips which were of great interest to the attendees for their clients counselling.  The focus was on "added value" which is important to the mature Swiss market.   Many of the exhibitors which participated for the first time are planning to come back the next time.  They consider the seminar well worth their time and money!
