Outlook 2012
SECO, the Swiss Ministry for the Industry & Labor recently lowered  its optimistic economic forecast from previously 2 percent for 2011 to slightly over 1 percent as a result of the strong Swiss Franc.  However, inspite of the strong Swiss Franc the economists of Credit Suisse paint a rather positive picture for 2012. Inflation, due to the strength of the country's currency should not exceed 1 percent.  Even export earnings should increase from presently 3.5 to 5 percent in 2012. Consumer spending, although somewhat less optimistic than in early 2011,  is expected to grow by 1.5 percent with unemployment slightly above3%.   Overflowing order books will keep construction humming the only limitation being the capacity.   Switzerland's National Bank will continue to keep a watchfull eye on the  Franc to prevent a renewed strengthening.  Please note that above figures are based on the assumption that there will be no recession in the main Swiss export markets in Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

Tickets sales in the first quarter 2012 have grown between 10 - 15 percent over the same period in 2011. Outbound travel from Switzerland, as a result, is expected to keep growing in 2012 and probably into 2013
